Business card design templates are great for designers who just don’t have the time to create their own designs. When looking for a great business card design, you want something that will stand out but still convey what you do and what your strengths are.

There are certain design themes that I think aren’t suitable for business cards because they’re cliched, generic, and (in my opinion) would generally make the wrong impression on your prospective client or business associate. Maybe bokeh, pastel/dreamy gradients, and swooshes should go the way of the dinosaur, at least when it comes to business cards.

Graphic designers and web designers should have business cards that are bold. They should absolutely make a statement, saying, “Hey, hire me!” or “Hey, work with me!” so having a memorable card should be important.

Although I’m always on the lookout for free designer resources, something as important as a business card should reflect who you are! Frankly, most free business card templates just don’t do that. The ones I’ve chosen as my top 5 are reasonably priced (usually around $6), which is a fraction of most designers’ hourly rates.
